What "milestones" are we looking for?

Before we begin:

Remember, all babies are different. They are going to do things when they're ready.

Not hitting certain milestones right away is okay!

Why are reaching milestones important for sessions?

Let's pretend that you have a Hello-Birthday package.

This package includes sessions for newborn, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, and 1 year.

A big reason that we look for different milestones is so that you have variety in your sessions.

Newborns: We're just looking for lots and lots of sleep.

3 Months: Pushing up during tummy time.

6 Months: Sitting unassisted and/or tripod sitting.

Newborn and 3 month sessions have a lot of poses with baby laid on their back.

My hope is to deliver sessions that show the growth of your baby.

Ideally, we want the 6 month session to happen when baby can sit to show baby in different poses.

Some babies don't reach their milestone in time for the session.

Again, totally fine!

Let me know what baby can or can't do and we'll come up with a plan.

We can push the session out a little bit if baby is close to sitting up.

Not sure how to style your 6 month old for their session?

I'll send you a style guide, with links, to help you find outfits for the session.

I also have a client closet full of outfits starting at 6 months that you are welcome to use!
