What is a Fresh 48 Session?

Fresh 48 sessions are photographed in a hospital setting and usually held within the first couple of days of your baby being born.

If possible, I like to come to the day after you deliver. This gives you some time to soak in some baby time, rest, and have a few close family and friends come to visit (if you're having visitors).

How are these different than studio newborn sessions?

Fresh 48 pictures don't focus on perfectly posed images.

We're capturing your hospital experience the way that it happened so that you can remember this moment forever. While you're in the hospital, you're running on fumes. Your body just did something amazing! But let's face it, you're exhausted. You'll be surprised at how much you won't remember.

That's where I come in. I can grab those little detail shots so that you can look back on these pictures and remember how tiny your baby was in the bassinet. The way the light shined through the window, and you suddenly realized that more than just your skin felt warm. Your heart feels it too.

These sessions are casual while still being in the moment.

The Benefits of a Fresh 48

Did I mention casual?

I love that moms can wear whatever they're comfortable in. Two piece sets and pajamas are popular choices. You don't have to get dressed up for this session. I love the look of a nice set of comfy pajamas for mom and just a plain shirt for dad.

There's no pressure for things to be "picture perfect."

These sessions are more documentary style. My approach to Fresh 48's are to watch baby and go off of how they (and you) are feeling that day. If they're sleepy and happy, we'll get lots of bassinet pictures before moving to parent pictures. If they're upset and need mom, that's alright too. We'll just have more snuggly pictures. Go with the flow, relax, and everything will fall into place!

I come to you. There's no getting out of the house.

You're already at the hospital. Might as well take advantage of being out and about and let me come to you!

Babies change soooo fast. Before you know it, those wrinkly feet and fingers will start to plump up in days. That umbilical cord will eventually fall off. This can happen before your studio newborn pictures too!

Why Bree Elle is Different

I'm a mom and I understand how delicate this new phase is. I don't take it for granted when you allow me into your room.

My sessions are designed with sensitivity, patience, and deep empathy for what you're going through.

Fresh 48 sessions are the only type that I offer. That means that I’m on-call for you. I'm fully dedicated to showing up when your baby does. No distractions, no juggling extra sessions, just full commitment to you.

I'm patient and will accommodate you the best that I can. I understand that things will come up (last minute testing, possible extended stays, ect.) and the last thing I want is for you to ever feel stressed.

We'll stay in contact once you arrive at the hospital up until your session time.
