All the Changes
At three, they wake up with opinions.
Strong ones.
About what cup is acceptable.
Which shoes feel “too loud.”
Why the blue plate is absolutely not the same as the blue plate from yesterday.
And somehow, in the middle of all that determination, they still crawl into your lap like they’ve done their whole life.
Still reach for you first when they’re unsure.
Still need you in ways that don’t always make sense… but feel important just the same.
As a photographer serving families through Bree Elle Photography in Southeast Texas, this is one of those ages I see moms trying to hold onto just a little tighter.
Big Feelings in a Little Body
Three is the age of feeling everything all at once.
Joy that looks like spinning in circles in the living room.
Frustration that shows up over the wrong granola bar.
Tears that come fast and leave just as quickly.
It can be exhausting, if we’re being honest.
But it’s also the age where you start to see who they are becoming.
The way they tell stories.
The things that make them laugh.
The little pieces of personality that weren’t there before.
During sessions at my Port Neches, TX studio, these are the moments I gently watch for… the in-between expressions that feel the most like them.
The Independence… and the “I Need You”
They want to do it themselves.
Until they don’t.
One minute they’re saying, “I got it,”
and the next they’re asking you to carry them across the room they just ran through.
It’s a constant back and forth.
A quiet reminder that growing up isn’t a straight line… it’s a gentle tug between holding on and letting go.
Families I photograph from Beaumont, Lumberton, and across Southeast Texas often say this is the stage that surprises them the most… how much both things can be true at once.
The Things You Don’t Want to Forget
The way they say certain words just a little bit wrong.
The way their hand still fits perfectly in yours.
How they look at you when they’re proud of something small.
The blankets or stuffies they love.
These are the details that slip by the fastest.
The ones you don’t realize you’ll miss until they’re already gone.
That’s why sessions at Bree Elle Photography are never rushed. Whether you’re coming from Port Neches, Beaumont, or Lumberton, the goal is always the same… to preserve these little pieces before they change.
Don't miss out
Because this season, as full as it is,
has a quiet way of becoming one you’ll wish you could hold onto just a little longer 🤍
And if you’ve been thinking about documenting this stage, Bree Elle Photography in Port Neches, TX serves families throughout Beaumont, Lumberton, and Southeast Texas with sessions that are simple, meaningful, and centered on connection… just the way you’ll want to remember it.
