It's one of those stages that doesn't get nearly as much attention as newborn photos or first birthdays, but if you ask me, it's one of the sweetest ages to remember.
What Makes Six Months So Special?
Around six months, babies begin showing their personalities in the biggest ways.
They're curious about the world around them. They recognize familiar faces. Their giggles are contagious, and they love making eye contact with the people they love most.
This is also the age when many babies are:
- Sitting independently (or almost there!)
- Smiling and laughing constantly
- Rolling everywhere

Why Six Months Is One of My Favorite Ages to Photograph
Newborn sessions will always have my heart, but six month sessions have their own kind of magic.
There's so much joy.
Big gummy smiles.
Chunky baby rolls.
Tiny fingers wrapped around mom's necklace.
Bright, curious eyes that follow everything.
The way they light up when mom or dad walks into view.
It's less about perfect posing and more about preserving exactly who your baby is during this season.
Should You Schedule a Six Month Milestone Session?
Absolutely.
You don't have to wait until your baby's first birthday to update family photos.
Six months tells a completely different story.
It's the chapter between "brand new" and "on the go."
One you'll wish you could revisit years from now.
